FIE is humbled and honored to be the recipient of a Diversity Abroad 2017 Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion in International Education (EDIIE) Award. The annual awards are given to recipients who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing diversity and inclusive excellence within international education on an individual, institutional, and organizational level. Members of FIE staff accepted the award during the annual DA conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Dr. Joan Gore, Senior Program Development Consultant with FIE, initiated and lead the AIEA digital archive project titled 'They were at the Beginning: Lessons from Leaders in Internationalization'. The series of interviews focuses on the history of study abroad and those who laid the foundations for study abroad in the US.
This August, FIE proudly sponsored members of beGirl.world during their stay in London. An organization co-founded by FIE London and Temple University alumna, LaToya Stroman, beGirl.World is dedicated to empowering teenage woman to travel and to 'think beyond their neighborhood, dream bigger than their city limits, and create endless possibilities outside their country borders'.
