Swine Flu Preparedness
The World Health Organization (WHO) recently declared a global flu pandemic. This move does not indicate that the virus has worsened or that there has been a dramatic increase in the number of people affected with the virus. Rather, it means that Influenza A (H1N1) is spreading to more regions of the world.
According to health authorities, the pandemic continues to be classified as moderate and causing mild illness in most people. The best prevention continues to be the practice of good hygiene.
Currently, The World Health Organization maintains that individuals should not change, limit, nor restrict their travel plans and activities. However, it’s always recommended that students check with their airline, the US Department of State and the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office before they travel.
