London Quarter Program
The FIE Open Enrollment Quarter in London incorporates 10 weeks of study with an FIE Key Course and two to three elective courses. The semester is divided into two phases with an orientation at the beginning, for a total of 10.5 weeks. All students will take elective courses during the first phase, and will take an intensive capstone course in British Life and Culture during the second phase.
Note About Quarter Programs
This program runs in the Winter quarter (January – March).
Quarter-school students interested in a Fall program are encouraged to enroll in FIE’s full Fall Semester Program, which typically does not overlap other quarter sessions. FIE can develop custom Spring and Summer Quarter Programs for Quarter schools with any of our existing curriculum. Please visit our Partner with FIE pages for more information on custom programming.
Quarter Structure
Phase 1: 7 weeks - Academic Courses
A variety of Elective Courses (see below) are offered to students in the semester program. Elective course availability is determined by enrollment and student course selections.
Phase 2: 3 weeks – Key Course in British Culture and Visual Media
Studying in another culture can be challenging for even the best students. Each FIE student will enroll in a Key Course (see below) to help them contextualize their experience in London in a broad, academic manner.
