Academics

Spending time in London as a student is a truly unforgettable experience. The city’s modern cosmopolitan identity combines a fascinating past with a present that sees more than seven million people living, studying, working and playing in its different areas. The arts, theater, nightlife, music and literature are just some of the things in which London excels, and just some of those that students can expect to experience during their FIE program.
FIE works hard to make sure that our international study programs are academically challenging, culturally immersive and personally enriching. FIE’s programs place a strong focus on participating in the host culture both intellectually and socially, inside the classroom and out.
London itself is an extensive educational resource, and utilizing that resource is one of the best ways to enhance the knowledge students gain in the classroom. For this reason, the Student Life Office works closely with faculty to create comprehensive co-curricular calendars to coincide with the subject matter. Co-curricular activities vary by course, and can include visits to museums & galleries, theater excursions, visits to Parliament, visits to finance organizations such as the Bank of England and Bloomberg, and excursions to Cambridge, Oxford, Bath & Stonehenge.
