London Quarter and Short Semester Courses

The FIE Open Enrollment Quarter in London incorporates 9 weeks of study with a FIE Key Course in British Life and Visual Media (BLVM) and two to three elective courses. The semester is divided into two phases with an orientation at the beginning and a mid-term break, for a total of 10.5 weeks.

While this program coincides with the calendars of schools operating on a quarter system, students from semester-calendar schools are welcome to apply for this program rather than the full 15-week semester in London, and will still receive a semesters’ worth of academic credit.

Note About Quarter Programs

This program runs in the Winter quarter (January – March).

Quarter-school students interested in a Fall program are encouraged to enroll in FIE’s full Fall Semester Program, which typically does not overlap other quarter sessions.  FIE can develop custom Spring and Summer Quarter Programs for Quarter schools with any of our existing curriculum. Please visit our Partner with FIE pages for more information on custom programming.

Quarter Structure

Phase 1: 7 weeks - Academic Courses

All students will take the BLVM key course and can choose from a variety of elective courses (see below). Elective course availability is determined by enrollment and student course selections.
