Student Life Arrival FAQs

Where is my residence and what is it like?

All of the homestays and apartments are located in the town of Villaviciosa de Odón, the same town where UEM is located. If you take a bus (#518 or #519) from Avenida Príncipe de Asturias to the campus, approximately a 10 minute ride gets you to the campus.

The homestays might be apartments or houses. Only one student is placed with each family to provide an immersion experience.  You will be included in the family’s activities.  Each apartment typically contains 3-5 private single bedrooms and 1-2 shared bathrooms living/dining/kitchen area.  The apartments are fully furnished (beds, wardrobe, TV, sofa, etc.) and the kitchen is equipped with utensils such as cookware, silverware and dishes.  Each bedroom also has private study facilities with a wireless or non-wireless internet access point.

Is bed linen provided?

Bed linen and towels are provided by the host families.  However, if you will be living in an apartment, you will have to provide your own bed linens, comforter (duvet), pillows and towels.  You may choose to bring some with you from home or you can buy some when you arrive.
