Stephen is a graduate of University College Dublin where he completed a BA History & Politics and MA American Studies. His MA thesis analyzed President Bill Clinton's relationship with Ireland. During the final year of his BA, Stephen served as International Officer of UCD Students' Union, winning the UCD President's Award for Excellence in Student Activities. During his MA studies, Stephen served as Events Officer of UCD International Students' Society, helping them to win UCD Society of the Year. Furthermore, Stephen holds a Postgraduate Certificate in International Student Advice and Support from the University of Nottingham.

Stephen grew up for several years in California and North Carolina. He has a career passion for international education. Stephen has worked in Ireland and the United Kingdom for several language schools and universities. His experience includes activities, administration, international admissions, management, and student support.

Stephen is a native of Greystones, County Wicklow, just south of Dublin. Stephen previously served as the Mayor of Greystones. In his spare time, he enjoys chess tournaments, hiking around Wicklow, and traveling.
