After growing up in Northampton, about an hour north from London, Nicola decided to apply for a 4 year course in BA Political Science and Sociology with a year abroad at the University of Birmingham. When she studied in Naperville, Illinois during her time abroad, she immersed herself in the various student groups, and was elected as the co-Vice President for her college’s Feminist Society. She also helped outgoing students at the college to prepare for their time abroad in the UK, by giving talks and Q&A sessions during the orientation seminars.

Since then, she has worked at the University of Birmingham during her final year to help raise awareness about different hate crimes. She enjoys volunteering for numerous charities, doing so before, during and after University, and is always willing to help. Her other passions include travelling, as well as attending concerts and going for some bubble tea.
