N.U.in Sligo 14 Surfing at Strandhill 2 LargeIRISH STUDIES: BUSINESS & CULTURE

Picture this: you, breathing the salty Irish Sea air as you gaze in wonder at century-old castles. Warming your belly with the local favorite – black tea – as you jot down words that attempt to capture your amazing experiences. Chasing rainbows, learning in new and fascinating ways, and having the best summer of your life. Picture you, studying abroad in Dublin!

FIE’s summer study program in Dublin offers two fascinating courses on Irish life, politics, culture, and business through the esteemed Dublin Business School (DBS). Since there’s more to the Emerald Isle than its capital, we include two extra study excursions to help you have a broader understanding of what life in Ireland means, not to mention a more authentic experience. Join us!

WEEKEND EXCURSIONS

Northern Ireland

As a country that has experienced its share of political upheaval, Northern Ireland presents a unique opportunity for students to delve deeper into topics surrounding conflict resolution, social justice, and peace studies. Soak it all up as you visit the Stormont Buildings (home of the former Northern Ireland Government) and the An Culturainn (the Irish Language Revival Center), then stir your inner activist on a tour of political murals in Belfast on this included excursion.

South & West of Ireland

Home to the Wild Atlantic Way, the Ring of Kerry, Killarney National Park, the Cliffs of Moher, AND the cultural powerhouse that is Galway (phew — that’s a lot!), a trip to Ireland is incomplete without visiting the south and west. Join us for this included weekend excursion; the numerous sheep passed on the meandering, country roads present the perfect excuse for practicing your Gaelic numbers 1-100!

"I could not have dreamed of a more fulfilling trip! The professors were so passionate about their country and in five short weeks gave us a much deeper insight into the rich and complex history of Ireland. The FIE team in Dublin was so involved with our group and really showed us Ireland. We saw so many parts of Ireland like the Cark-a-reed rope bridge, Sileve League, the Cliffs of Moher and Galway which I will always cherish." - FIE Dublin Student, Drexel University
