Financial Aid

Along with the excitement and anticipation of planning to study abroad with FIE: Foundation for International Education comes the stress and woes of financing your experience. Don’t worry! You can afford to study with FIE! If you are currently receiving financial aid for your college education, in many cases you can use it to study abroad. This can be the case with aid from an institution, a foundation, the state or federal government, or any other private or public sources. Talk to your study abroad advisor, financial aid officer, or bursar about what can and cannot be applied to an FIE program of study abroad.

NAFSA: Association of International Educators has a great ‘Financial Aid & Study Abroad: Basic Facts for Students’ resource online to help you get started.

In Case You Missed It: On June 19, 2017, the US Department of Education announced that the Pell Grant program was expanded year-round to include summer aid.
