Originally from North Carolina, Sarah received a BS in Sociology with a concentration in Social Inequalities from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, and spent a semester at the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, South Africa. She served in the Appalachian College Advising Corps (an AmeriCorps program) in western North Carolina for a year, assisting underserved high school students in their goals for after their graduation. Sarah has since obtained an MA in International Relations from Durham University where she was an active member of the University College community as a Resident Mentor and as Social Chair for the Middle Common Room. Her degrees, experience studying abroad, and advising students have led to a passion for international education. Sarah strives to help others achieve their goals through accessible education. Outside of working hours she enjoys hiking, watching musicals, and traveling.
