About

Dr. Michael Harrigan has previously taught in France and Ireland, as well as the United Kingdom. His teaching experience ranges from British social and cultural history, the history of British and European art, and European philosophy and religious culture, to the history of the colonial Americas. He enjoys teaching in collaboration with museums and cultural institutes both in the United Kingdom and the Caribbean. His books include Frontiers of Servitude (2018) and Life and Death on the Plantations (2021). He is currently writing a new book which is a study of how settler and enslaved populations ate, drank, and healed - and the objects they used to do so - across the Caribbean colonies.
