Dr Paul McVeigh has over 20 years of lecturing experience in UK universities. He read Politics and Parliamentary Studies at the University of Leeds, interning in both the US House of Representatives and the House of Commons and graduating with First Class Honours in 1992. He undertook an ESRC-funded PhD project on Spain’s economic and political transition to EU membership and began his lecturing career at the University of Portsmouth in 1998 teaching in European/EU Studies, Political Economy, and in both British and American Government / Politics. In 2016 he took up a post with the Hansard Society delivering their academic program in British Government and Politics to international – mainly American – students who were simultaneously undertaking internships in Westminster. Throughout his career, Dr McVeigh has worked with a variety of media organizations including the BBC and been a participant in various public political education events and debates most notably during the EU Referendum Campaign in 2016.
