Where leadership meets the unfamiliar
Some of the most lasting leadership lessons happen outside the classroom: when students have to act without a script, work across cultures and reflect honestly on what worked. FIE programs are built around exactly that kind of learning, pairing academic study with real work in real organizations.
FIE: Foundation for International Education is a nonprofit based in London that has offered study abroad programs for more than 25 years. We're proud to support the ILA Global Conference and to share two ways we help your students grow as leaders.

Every FIE internship pairs a professional placement with an academic course, the International Internship Course or International Service Internship Course, that asks students to connect theory to practice. Along the way they build the transferable skills employers look for:
- Communication and collaboration across cultures
- Adaptability and problem solving in an unfamiliar workplace
- Initiative, professional judgment and confidence
- Reflective practice that turns experience into insight
