At FIE, we believe studying abroad should be a possibility for everyone. We also know that cost can sometimes feel like a barrier, which is why we’re proud to offer a range of scholarships to help make your dream of living and learning abroad a reality. Our scholarships carry the legacy of Sharif Rahman, FIE’s founder and Chairman, whose lifelong mission was to create opportunities for students to experience the world and grow as global citizens.
FIE has developed several scholarships designed to support different types of students and programs, whether you’re studying for a semester in London, interning in Dublin, or spending your summer in Madrid.

How to Apply for an FIE Scholarship
Applying for an FIE scholarship is simple:
- Choose your FIE program.
- Submit your application through the MyStudyAbroad@FIE. Depending on the scholarship, requirements may include a short essay, creative project, or letter of recommendation.
- Scholarships are awarded only to students accepted onto an FIE program, but you don’t need to complete your program application before applying for the scholarship. We recognize the importance of scholarships in planning and budgeting, so our scholarship deadlines come before the program application deadline. This way, you’ll know the outcome of your scholarship application before submitting your program application.
- Applications are reviewed by our Global Scholarships Committee (GSC). The GSC is dedicated to advancing equitable access to transformative study abroad experiences. Made up of FIE staff members across a range of teams, the committee is committed to transparent review of scholarship applications, fair and thoughtful allocation of funding, and the ongoing engagement of scholarship recipients. Successful candidates are notified shortly after the deadline.
Tip: All deadlines are set to UK time (GMT). Don’t leave submissions to the last minute!
- Start early: Strong applications aren’t written overnight. Reflect on your personal story, goals, or creative work and how they connect with the scholarship’s theme.
- Show your personality: We want to know what excites you about studying abroad and how you’ll make the most of this opportunity.
- Choose recommenders wisely: Pick someone who knows you well and can speak passionately about your strengths.
- Double-check deadlines: Especially with time zones in mind.
“The FEA scholarship has been a transformative opportunity for me! Although many students aspire to study abroad, sometimes the cost of these programs can prove to be a major obstacle. This was the case for me, and as I searched for additional funding opportunities, I stumbled across the Fund For Education Abroad scholarship program.”
- Kenny Pratt, Loyola Marymount University, Spring Semester in London (FEA & FIE Access Partner Scholarship)
