FIE's Student Global Leadership Conference will take place Friday, April 2 - Saturday, April 3, 2027, at the Royal Geographical Society

Leadership in the Age of Global Mobility

In the 21st century, leadership is no longer bound to a particular culture, place or national context. Globally, movement via digital connectivity, migration, study abroad or remote work has extensively reshaped how identity, power and responsibility function and operate. While some people benefit from the accessibility of study, travel and working globally, others experience restrictions of displacement, visa regimes, border complications and systematic barriers to movement. At the 2027 Student Global Leadership Conference, delegates will understand the way in which mobility contributes to shaping leadership in transnational spaces. Key themes will include:

  • Leadership in multicultural workplaces
  • Diasporic influence and transnational leadership
  • Leading across borders: Global vs Local Responsibility

The Student Global Leadership Conference’s ‘Leadership in the Age of Global Mobility’ provides the opportunity to rethink and reflect on what leadership means in a world characterized by movement. It challenges students to be leaders and uphold positive attributes of being ethically grounded, globally aware, and able to build cohesion across difference.
